Japanese Tea Ceremony & Kimono Event in Hawaii

Enjoy an Outdoor Tea Ceremony

On Saturday, November 11th 2023
Opening hours: 10:00-2:30

At Gedatsu Church of Hawaii, we will be holding a Japanese tea ceremony + kimono experience event

in the garden for the purpose of cultural exchange so that you can easily experience Japanese culture.

OUTDOOR TEA CEREMONY

Twice: morning session:11:00-12:00 and afternoon session:1:00-2:00

Matcha-tea will be served by church volunteers.

Please enjoy a relaxing moment while enjoying tea and Japanese sweets in the beautiful garden.

$15 per person (Matcha + Japanese sweets)

KIMONOEXPERIENCE (Ladies only)

If you would like to participate wearing a kimono,

you can rent one at the "Kimono Experience" corner and wear it.

We will also help you put on your kimono.

If you are wearing a kimono, please wear a tank top with an open collar.

You can wear beach sandals on your feet.

Please note that it may take some time to put on the kimono.

Donation is appreciated for this kimono experience. (suggested donation $10).

 

​Next summer kimono and obi are ready

Kimono or Hawaiian dress Market

 

At the Kimono Market Corner, you can purchase reused kimonos, yukatas,

or, Hawaiian dresses, muumuu, etc. If you are interested, please take a look.
If you are looking for a kimono or would like to donate your own kimono,

please feel free to bring your own. Kimono swaps are also possible.

Event proposal

Don't miss this opportunity to wear a kimono, yukata,

Hawaiian dress, or muumuu that you don't usually wear.

Also, please take this opportunity to take a commemorative photo wearing kimono

and use it for family photos for the holidays.

Of course, you can participate in casual clothes.
Everyone is invited to come and join us.
